The Waiting Game

June 27th:  My daughter's last endo appointment.

July 21st:   Insulin pump script sent to order fulfillment to begin processing.

See that white space in between the two dates?  That's me calling and checking on the process to see what is holding it up.

And now, I wait some more for the order to submit, insurance to approve and for the pump to be delivered.

Tell me: does this make you feel slightly crazy too?
And how do you make this process better?
I would love to hear your thoughts.

  1. The whole process stresses me out! Haha. You would think since it's kind of a life support that it wouldn't take forever to even simply send out a script or for the script to be recieved and processed! Some are luckier than others and have a fairly easy time with pumps and insurance approving and getting the pump, then some people not so much. I hope it goes a lot faster for y'all now! Did y'all switch to the medtronic?

  2. I've been waiting since April. No joke! I'm waiting for the CGM part of Medtronic Enlite system. I think my insurance has approved the pump part. I'm waiting on my endo for a letter about the CGM. Today I had my first appointment since April and told him I was waiting on his letter. He acted like he didn't know about it, but seemed like he would now work on it.

I don't know how to make the waiting process any better! The good news, pump training on a 2nd pump is so much easier and better than pump training on your first pump. :)

  3. Ugh! My fears are realized... we all are stuck with this same situation. Yes, waiting for the new Medtronic. After being on Animas for so many years, looking forward to trying something new. I am going to be asking you all for help, I am sure!!!

  4. Follow-up... four days after writing this, our supplier received the clearance to go ahead and ship us the pump, tester and supplies. Thank you for making one 13 year old deliriously happy!
